Welcome to the website for Nordic-Scottish Co-operation on Regional Policy and
Sustainable Development. The site has been set up to disseminate information
on the programmes, projects and other initiatives involving co-operation
between the Nordic countries and Scotland.
The goal of Nordic-Scottish co-operation is to promote the development
of common approaches to shared challenges in the fields of regional
policy and sustainable economic development in the Nordic and North
Atlantic areas. The co-operation encompasses networking and awareness-raising
activities, joint studies or policy papers on issues of common interest
and concrete co-operation projects, often developed through European funding programmes.
The pages on this website provide information on the objectives and
organisation of the co-operation, as well as on specific co-operation
programmes and projects, and on conferences and seminars involving Nordic
officials, practitioners and academics. While cooperation activity will continue through 2006, new programmes are being developed for the 2007-2013 period. The opportunity will therefore be taken to reflect on experience to date and how emerging proposals should be taken into account post-2006.
We welcome contributions to the site from those involved in Nordic-Scottish
co-operation, in particular feedback on programmes and projects. |
