European spatial development and policy

The third EPRC research programme covers European spatial development and policy in a broader sense. While obviously related to the other two research themes, this programme has become a distinct area of research in recent years, with the establishment of the EU’s ESPON programme (where EPRC has been involved in research into the territorial effects of both the Structural Funds and Pre-Accession Aid) and with a growing number of EPRC projects on the theme of inter-regional cooperation.
